Whether you are coming to Australia for temporary work assignment or permanent stay, there are a number of things you need to do before you hop on the plane.

1. Make certified copies of your personal documents, such as birth certificates, medical records, marriage certificates, qualifications certificates, etc.  It is best to bring the original or certified copies of these documents with you in case you need them immediately after your arrival.

2. Make sure your passport is valid and there are enough blank pages left for entry/exit stamps.

3. Make arrangements for temporary living accommodations.

4. Make quarantine arrangements to transport your pets.

6. Notify relevant authorities and friends/relatives of address change.

7. Find out the weather/climate of the city you are travelling to and bring suitable clothing.

8. Exchange sufficient Australian dollars for initial travel, meals, etc.

9. Bring contact details of your friends/relatives at home and in Australia.

10. Keep a record of important documents and give a copy to your friends/relatives at home or in Australia.
